That’s right — two dollars and forty-nine cents until 2PM PDT today. That isn’t a typø. That isn’t a joke. That is cold, hard, entertaining fact. I even went to the Steam web page and saw this price with my own eyes. My eyes quickly sent the information to my brain, and my brain didn’t even have to pick up its shoddy Playskool calculator to know that $2.50 is a hell of a deal for Team Fortress 2.
And there’s more! I almost don’t want to mention it because it seems like too much. This extra information makes it seem like I’m trying to play a trick on you, gentle reader. Look, we aren’t in the month of April and this isn’t the high school locker room — this isn’t a trick.
On top of this ridiculous price, Valve is adding some Halloween goodies for TF2 players. The Terrifying Team Fortress Halloween Special includes a new KOTH map, achievements that unlock scary hats, exploding pumpkins, and candy, and dune buggies made out of bones. I can’t confirm that that last one is in the update, but it would fit the theme.
On a related note, go check out the TF2 blog and the update ad to see some really excellent comedy copy. People within earshot won’t know if your laughing or SCREAMING.
