I‘ll let you judge what about this Army of Two: The 40th Day trailer is spooky. Is it the Army of Two guys trick or treating dressed up as ..themselves? Is it the shadowy setting? The fake skeleton? Personally, I decided that the spooky thing about the trailer was that it was another reminder that EA is actually making another Army of Two game. The pumpkins were also a little spooky when their eyes flickered from the candles.
Shouldn’t these Army of Two guys be raping the humanity out of a village somewhere? I guess they figured that they were already dressed for the part and went with it.
You know what they say — one man’s trick or treating is another man’s armed robbery. I guess the Army of Two guys weren’t satisfied by the amount of candy they could hold in their hollowed out infant skulls, so they upgraded to those plastic pumpkins. Normal people use pillow cases on Halloween because it’s a creative and practical way to hold a huge amount of candy. The Army of Two guys usually kill every problem they have with bullets, so creative thinking is never really a requirement.
I’m a little confused by the plot. What’s the point of robbing this guy of his computer so they can take it outside and shoot it because they “love blowin’ shit up!” under the guise of trick or treating? I’m about to make my second Terminator 2 reference of the day, but fuck it. This trailer is like in Terminator 2 when Arnold goes to hot wire the car but then John pulls down the visor and a key falls out. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just walk in there and steal the computer? Are the Army of Two guys trying to turn over a new leaf, but they’re too addicted to shooting things that they can’t stop? Are all those dead people finally weighing on their collective conscience? Is EA’s marketing department spending all their energy on advertising for Dante’s Inferno?
The world may never know.
